The function began in the morning with each devotee giving Lord Ganesh a bath with milk and then water. The idols were then gently wiped and robed in colorful attire. Even the little mouse, by the side of Lord Ganesh, was robed in silk attire and decorated. The two brass idols of Lord Ganesh were then  decorated and placed in the Twin Hall and the Main Hall by the devotees amidst chants of 'Jai Jai Ganesh'. Aarti and Puja was also performed.

Puj Dada Ratanchandji made offerings of ladoos, the favourite sweet of Lord Ganesh. Devotees also made offerings of fruits, sweets and flowers to Lord Ganesh. Chants of 'Ganpati Bapa Moriya' filled the air as devotees prayed to 'the Remover of Obstacles' for his blessings. This function was followed by the regular ritual of Duaa from Data Dastagir Badshah of Baghdad in the afternoon.
